Tax Deductions for Flight Attendants

Some deductions that may be available to flight attendants include:

  • Moisturiser and hair conditioner when used whilst working in abnormal dry aircraft cabins;

  • Cost of luggage and luggage trolley;

  • Shoes and hosiery if part of uniform;

  • Cost of purchasing, maintaining and laundering compulsory uniforms;

  • Meals and accommodation if away from home overnight.

Flight attendants may also be entitled to general tax deductions that are not work specific, such as investment deductions or car expenses deductions.
