Tax Deductions for Pilots

 

Some deductions that may be available to pilots include:

  • Moisturiser and hair conditioner when used whilst working in abnormal dry aircraft cabins;

  • Cost of luggage and luggage trolley;

  • Cost of sunglasses (anti-glare);

  • Annual licensing certificate;

  • Training courses and travel to those courses;

  • Meals and accommodation if away from home overnight;

Pilots may also be entitled to general tax deductions that are not work specific, such as investment deductions or car expenses deductions.
